One thing to check is whether the plastic stopper under the wooden cap has been removed. This stopper is there to keep the fragrance fresh during shipping. If it’s still in place, the scent won’t be able to diffuse properly.
If you’ve already removed the stopper, please try replacing the wooden cap securely and then tipping the container to wet the wooden cap for 2-5 seconds. This should help activate the fragrance.
